New Acoustic Show Place at Perk Place

Acoustic musicians are not hard to find in the Antelope Valley, but finding talented acoustic musicians is another thing all together, now imagine putting all that talent found in the Antelope Valley into one room, for  three hours. Your mind will be blown.

The one I will be focusing on today is the FIRST EVER Acoustic Show at Perk Place Coffee House that took place on Wednesday June 8th.  Located at 560 W. Milling St.(which is adjacent to Downtown Lancaster Blvd) Perk Place has been thriving for ten years now. Artists that performed were among the regulars such as Michael Hagen and El Javi, as well as few new fresh faces.

Brittany Harris is no stranger of the local music scene. She puts on mulitple music shows weekly, bi-weekly and monthy. A majority of those being Open Mic Nights; including the bi-weekly shows played at The Rock Inn in Lake Hughes and The Bandstand Coffee House on Lancaster Blvd, put on by Brittany and Chase Wells of “Alas! The Revolution” Productions. Monthly events include the Open Mic Night inside of BLVDtoday Cafe located at 749 W. Lancater BLVD.  Show times vary from week to week, so be sure to check out their events page or contact Brittany Harris for more info:

Local Hardcore Christian Band is Hardcore About Their Music

Locals Chris Correa and Daniel Wiley have been performing and producing music since they were teenagers. His Coming Day is not new to the Antelope Valley, for they have been around for years and backyard shows aren’t normally their thing, but they are certainly up for anything these days. It seems they just want their music to be heard by any one and everyone that is open to it. New members of the band include Chris Diaz on guitar, Daniel Green also on guitar and backing vocals and Ethan Wagner on drums.

The energy this band creates is something that is rarely seen in the music world today. They definitely give the name “hardcore” a new meaning.

Despite their rugged and fearless styled music, these are some gentle giants off stage. They love everyone and always want their message to be heard. They currently have a new album out, titled HELLION which was released in May of 2011.

They also have some upcoming shows this month one of which is on June 11th at 6pm with Phinehas, Dead End Alaska,  Cross To Bear and others. Located at Lighthouse Assembly of God 9th East and Avenue Q-6

in Palmdale, CA.
Another upcoming show on June 15th His Coming Day will be opening for OH Sleeper, and Hawkboy.
 At The Pioneer Event Center
45000 Valley Central Way
Lancaster, CA
This show is no doubt going to be one for the books.
