What’s All This ‘Babble’ about The Great Tortilla Heist?

Natives to the Antelope Valley, in terms of music, The Great Tortilla Heist have been shaking up the earth for many many years, from early days of slappy ska punk, to the progression of their new ska inspired sound, along with new members, these boys are quickly becoming a legend in the making. Fronted by William Giaquinto who is also a professional trumpet player, this nine-piece progressive ska band gone regional has developed and evolved greatly through out the years.

Although the members have changed though out the years, the current line up they have is surely the greatest part of their progression. Other members include, Danny Harris on lead guitar and some trombone, Kory Adams who rocks on rhythm guitar, Alex Cook who slaps the bass and also does a little backing vocals, Josh Weiss is their percussionist, making those beats all align perfectly in time.  Nigel Yancey is on Tenor sax and flute while Julian Jenkins plays the alto sax, and a little keyboard here and there. Wyatt Garrett leads on the trombone, with Mike King on Bass Trombone.

Together all nine of these talented young men make an amazing harmonious sound that could never be duplicated.

They just recently released their new LP titled Tower of Babel which  is being sold now through any show or member.

Tickling the Keys

We have a fantastic piano right outside our store that is attracting a fan club. As we go about our busy day, all of a sudden, WE HEAR BEAUTIFUL MUSIC ! People, young and old, of all levels of talent, stop to play. We hear jazz, rock and roll, simple pecking, and everything in-between.

This guy was pretty great and really enjoyed himself. I did too ! The City of Lancaster had a great idea! Many others have joined the ranks of piano players on this great piano!

Local Hardcore Christian Band is Hardcore About Their Music

Locals Chris Correa and Daniel Wiley have been performing and producing music since they were teenagers. His Coming Day is not new to the Antelope Valley, for they have been around for years and backyard shows aren’t normally their thing, but they are certainly up for anything these days. It seems they just want their music to be heard by any one and everyone that is open to it. New members of the band include Chris Diaz on guitar, Daniel Green also on guitar and backing vocals and Ethan Wagner on drums.

The energy this band creates is something that is rarely seen in the music world today. They definitely give the name “hardcore” a new meaning.

Despite their rugged and fearless styled music, these are some gentle giants off stage. They love everyone and always want their message to be heard. They currently have a new album out, titled HELLION which was released in May of 2011.

They also have some upcoming shows this month one of which is on June 11th at 6pm with Phinehas, Dead End Alaska,  Cross To Bear and others. Located at Lighthouse Assembly of God 9th East and Avenue Q-6

in Palmdale, CA.
Another upcoming show on June 15th His Coming Day will be opening for OH Sleeper, and Hawkboy.
 At The Pioneer Event Center
45000 Valley Central Way
Lancaster, CA
This show is no doubt going to be one for the books.
